Maker Profile
Rob Dolan began his career in South Australia where he learnt
the art of winemaking from the ground up. He had a couple
of well-known teachers in Greg Clayfield (who won his first
Jimmy Watson in 1980), and John Vichery at Rouge Homme. Graduating
from Roseworthy, Rob continued his passion for winemaking
in the Hunter Valley with Arrowfield and Rothbury Estate.
In 1991 Rob became winemaker at Yarra Ridge. Here the opportunity
of operating in a small winery gave him freedom to experiment,
helping him hone his winemaking skills. His efforts were soon
recognized on the show circuit, including winning the Top
Australian Dry White at the National Wine Show and placing
in the Jimmy Watson taste-off. His 1996 Reserve Pinot Noir
won the trophy for the best Pinot Noir at the prestigious
International Wine & Spirit Competition in London in 1999.
Jasmine Wines Platypus Down Under is a label that provides
